Was Teresa Giudice Event Designed to Raise Money for Legal Defense Fund? No, Insists Real Housewives of New Jersey Star

Teresa Giudice and husband Joe may be dealing with legal troubles, but the Real Housewives of New Jersey star insists an event held on Thursday was not an attempt to raise money for their defense fund.

"Tonight's appearance at Maliblue is just a meet & greet w/ fans," Teresa tweeted upon learning of the rumors. "I just heard that some of the workers there wanted to support me and that is very sweet & I appreciate it, but if anyone wants to support me, please do it by donating to a charity I love: @NephCure. Xx."

The speculation apparently derived from a press release that reportedly stated that the event was designed "to help pay any fines or other restitution that Teresa and Joe are ordered to pay."

Later, the catering company handling the event tried to clear up the confusion by tweeting, "Our apologies to @teresaguidice about the media & press."

Last month, the Giudices were charged in a conspiracy to defraud lenders and illegally obtain mortgages and other loans as well as allegedly hiding assets and income during a bankruptcy case.

At the couple's most recent court appearance on Aug. 14, they pleaded not guilty to fraud charges. Their next court date is scheduled for Oct. 8

If convicted, each spouse could face a maximum prison sentence of 20 to 30 years, and Joe, who is not a citizen of the United States, could also be deported back to Italy.

Real Housewives of Miami star Adriana De Moura stripped down for her new campaign with PETA.

The brunette bombshell is seen posing completely naked in a bathtub for the animal rights ads, which aim to bring awareness to the controversial practice of keeping marine mammals in captivity for entertainment purposes.

De Moura's ad pose the question, "Could you live in a tub for 40 years?" and highlight the life of Lolita, a lone orca who has been imprisoned in a small tank at the Miami Seaquarium after being captured in 1970.

The campaign is extremely close to the Bravo reality star's heart because she hails from Brazil, one of the few countries that has completely banned the contentious practice. De Moura hopes that the United States will soon follow her native country's lead with regards to animal captivity.

She also posed for her eye-catching PETA ad in order to encourage the Miami Seaquarium to release Lolita from confinement into a coastal sanctuary.

De Moura isn't the only Real Housewives of Miami star to go nude for the good cause. Her fellow cast member Joanna Krupa is a longtime animal activist and has been featured in PETA ads as well.

E! News was the first to reveal that De Moura was joining the ranks of some of Hollywood's biggest names who've bared their all for PETA, including Eva Mendes and Olivia Munn.
