Prince William Buys Teddy Bear for Kate Middleton and Their Royal Baby Boy: See the Adorable Gift!

Heads of state and foreign governments haven't been the only ones buying up gifts for the royal baby, who was finally born this afternoon.

It turns out that Prince William purchased a teddy bear from famed London department store Harrods a few weeks ago as a surprise for wife Kate Middleton, a source exclusively confirms to E! News.

He then gave her the bear shortly after she gave birth. And this isn't just any bear...

It's Harrods' annual bear!

We don't know the new prince's name yet, but this little guy is named Charles Stephens.

Though he's missing pants, the otherwise-dapper stuffed animal comes clad in a pin-striped vest and white dress shirt with a red tie and pocket square. He's both fit for the royal nursery and to go work at the local stock exchange!

Forgive us the presumption, but the only thing cuter may end up being the royal baby himself.

Meanwhile, the royal baby gifts continue to arrive from all corners.

English Premier League football club Aston Villa sent Kate and Will's firstborn son his own kit, including a pint-size jersey with "HRH 1" on the back.

And it turns out that Villa is carrying on a royal family tradition: According to the team's website, the club also sent Prince William—a big fan since his Eton days—a gift package for his 21st birthday. The Duke of Cambridge was also spotted wearing Villa socks in Decemeber 2011 while kicking around a soccer ball with pals.

About 10 1/2 hours after his mum and dad arrived at St. Mary's Hospital in London, his wee Royal Highness was born at 4:24 p.m. (British Summer Time), weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

"We could not be happier," William said in a statement today.

Royal Baby Flashback: Princess Diana Was Induced, See Baby Prince William's Debut

by Brandi Fowler Fri., Jul. 19, 2013 6:56 PM PDT

While the Great Kate Wait continues, we took a look back at details behind Prince William's birth.

The Duke of Cambridge was born on June 21, 1982, and when Princess Diana gave birth to him she "had to be induced."

"I couldn't handle the press pressure any longer, it was becoming unbearable," Diana later told her friend journalist Andrew Morton, according to People. "We went in very early. I was sick as a parrot the whole way through the labor, very bad labor."

Kate, too, was not feeling her best at the beginning of her pregnancy, suffering from bad bouts of acute morning sickness for the first few months.

Although a source told E! News exclusively that Kensington Palace has been operating under the assumption that Kate is two to three days past her due date, doctors in the U.K. don't usually rush their patients into being induced unless they are a week to ten days overdue, according to the mag.

As far as what we can expect when the royal baby does make his or her debut, there might be some clues in a video that aired on Today on June 22, 1982 after Prince William was born.

In the video, Prince Charles stepped out of St. Mary's Hospital and talked calmly to a group of reporters following the royal baby's birth, saying, "I'm honestly relieved and delighted. It's marvelous," when asked how he felt.

"It's rather a grown-up thing, I've found," he continued. "It's rather a shock to my system."

While he and Diana were still deciding on a name for their son at the time, he told the crowd their little one was in "marvelous form," with "fair, sort of blondish" hair.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left Middleton's family home in Bucklebury today, and while it's believed the duo is heading back to London, there's been no sign yet of them at St. Mary's hospital, where Middleton is expected to deliver the couple's first child together (and don't be fooled by those of lookalike pranksters earlier today).

Royal Baby Watch: Will Prince William and Kate Middleton Name Their Tot Hyancinthe or Theophilus?

by Brandi Fowler Fri., Jul. 19, 2013 3:36 PM PDT

Before Kate Middleton delivers the royal baby, there might be some clues on what she and Prince William will name it.

At least, that's what researchers at family history website Ancestry.co.uk are betting on.

NEWS: 7 reasons why you should care about Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby!

The site's researchers delved into the names of the couple's ancestors, looking for a moniker we might hear when the royal baby delivery news is finally announced, according to the UK's Daily Mirror.

On the more "exotic" end of the spectrum, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could name their baby Hyancinthe or Theophilus after one of their ancestors.

Or, they could stick with a more common name like Elizabeth and John—both of which are the most popular names in both of their respective family trees.

While it's still up in the air as to when Middleton will give birth to the royal baby, Middleton and Prince William did leave her family's home in Bucklebury earlier today, and it's expected they will head back to London.

Which could be the first sign that the royal baby will be on its way sometime soon.

Although initial reports claimed the baby was due July 13 or 14, the U.K.'s Telegraph reported that the duches is due today, and that hospital staffers were told to be on standby for Middleton's delivery as early as a month beforehand.

And this isn't called the Great Kate Wait for nothing.

Even Queen Elizabeth II is in limbo over the baby news, saying recently, "I would very much like [the baby] to arrive because I'm going on holiday."

The Queen is expected to start her summer vacation in Scotland next week.

And perhaps she'll get her wish.

Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, told well-wishers Monday that the family expects Middleton to give birth "by the end of the week."

"We are all just waiting by the telephone," she added. "We are hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here."

Royal Baby Will Follow in Prince William's Footsteps—but Maybe He Can Still Lead a Normal Life

David Bowie and Freddie Mercury aren't the only Brits who know about pressure.

The baby boy born today to Kate Middleton and Prince William isn't even 24 hours old and he's already being groomed for greatness.

But though the royal heir, who takes over uncle Prince Harry's place as third in line to the British throne, will obviously have to get used to living life in the spotlight eventually, it's really up to his parents to see to it that he gets a shot at a so-called normal life.

PHOTOS: Check out the media frenzy surrounding the royal baby's arrival

Of course, "normal" for the royal baby doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as it does to the child born in the room next to him in the posh Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital, where William, Kate and their little prince are currently ensconced for the night.

"Normal" for this young chap could, however, have a similar meaning as it did for William and Harry, whose mum, the late Princess Diana, tried her best to "give them some normality," the Princess of Wales' former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, told NBC News. (E! Online is a member of the NBCUniversal family.)

Royal experts have predicted that Will and Kate probably will hire a nanny, but will more hands-on than royal parents of previous generations. Also, Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, are expected to play a role in helping their daughter get settled in as a mum.

Per the U.K.'s Guardian, the young family of three will soon be moving into the 21-room Kensington Palace "apartment" that's currently undergoing a $1.5 million renovation, and they're expected to frequent the 10-bedroom Anmer Hall at Sandringham, the Norfolk estate where Queen Elizabeth II and her immediate family traditionally spend Christmas.

Of course, it will be no ordinary daily grind for His Royal Highness the Prince of Cambridge (the first member of the royal family to born into that title in 194 years!) once he's of school age.

It's likely that he will go to an independent boarding school, like his father (who first went away to Ludgrove in Berkshire when he was 8) and mother (she boarded at Marlborough in Wiltshire) ; then it's off to university (his parents met at St. Andrew's in Scotland), where he'll select a course of concentrated study; and most likely he'll serve a stint in the military, or go to a military academy, like Harry.

Plus, he'll expected to be a great philanthropist, like pretty much everyone he's related to, and who wants to bet how old the prince is when he gets his first pony? Or scores his first goal in polo? (But first, who wants to bet that he'll be named James?)

And then...young adulthood.

"This child is actually going to have to grow up never putting a foot wrong," Dr. Andrew Roberts, NBC News' British historian, said (Ominously?) on Today.

He also predicted that the prince probably won't be encouraged to pick a profession that could lead to any sort of screw-up that might embarrass the royal family.

"It's difficult to know what areas of life you can go into which are completely devoid of controversy," Roberts said.

But since the Internet has made it so that nothing is devoid of controversy anymore, maybe that means the Prince of Cambridge was born into a world where the sky really will be the limit for him.

And not just because his father and uncle are both pilots.

Royal Baby Watch: Find Out Where Kate Middleton, Prince William & the Rest of the Family Are Ahead of the Royal Birth

by Bruna Nessif Tue., Jul. 16, 2013 5:30 PM PDT

Tick, tock, tick, tock...

We're not the only ones awaiting the (now later than anticipated) arrival of the royal baby—Kate Middleton, Prince William and the rest of the royal family are also joining in on the waiting game.

But where and how are they passing the time?

The soon-to-be "brilliant" mother, who was laying low at Nottingham Cottage in London, recently relocated to her parents' home in Bucklebury to spend some time with her family before the baby's birth. Kate's parents' home is about 53 miles away from St. Mary's in London—the hospital where she is due to deliver.

Meanwhile, Wills is preparing to hop on a helicopter to be by his wife's bedside. In fact, a source told E! News exclusively that the daddy-to-be canceled Monday night plans with his guy friends just in case Middleton went into labor during that time.

His backing out of plans with the boys is "unexpected," adds a source, so he might be on to something (or just having pre-parental anxiety!) about when the royal baby is planning to make his or her debut.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, were spotted at the Little Harbour children's hospice at Porthpean, near St. Austell, Cornwall, yesterday, for their annual "Cornwall Week," which includes meeting locals and highlighting the work of worthy causes.

During their visit, the Duchess of Cornwall let it slip that she expects Kate to give birth "by the end of the week."

"We are all just waiting by the telephone," Camilla said in an impromptu speech. "We are hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here."

Queen Elizabeth has been keeping busy by counting swans (no, seriously).

Her Majesty is currently performing the annual tradition of Swan Upping, where she literally counts all of her mute swans.

Lastly, there's the hunky uncle-to-be Prince Harry, who has been pretty MIA throughout the waiting game, however his doppelgänger made a surprise appearance outside the Lindo Wing this morning. His lookalike arrived decked out in full military regalia, alongside a giant bear who sported a Union Jack scarf and crown.

Sweet of him to provide some entertainment during this time, don't ya think?
