Zach Braff Wants to "Set the Bar Really High" for Kickstarter Movies: Star Dishes From the Set!

Zach Braff has already proved he knows how to direct (See: indie-classic Garden State), but he knows that he's got something new to prove with his latest project.

"If this is the test case for this way of financing a movie, I want to set the bar really, really high," the Scrubs star told E! News from the set of Wish I Was Here, the Kickstarter-financed film he's currently directing and starring in after cowriting the script with his brother Adam Braff.

Though Braff was initally criticized by some fellow stars for soliciting funds from average Joes, ultimately more than 46,000 donors contributed upward of $3.1 million—and it's game on!

Wish I Was Here also stars Kate Hudson, Jim Parsons, Josh Gad, Ashley Greene, Mandy Patinkin, Joey King and Braff's former Scrubs BFF Donald Faison, so apparently not all of Hollywood disapproved.

"What fascinated me more than anything was the process of this Kickstarter campaign and getting the money through crowd-funding," Gad also told E! "It really does feel like you're making a movie for the people."

And Braff is letting the people speak.

"If any of these 46,000 people email us or contact us they get a response that day, hopefully within a couple of hours, depending on how crazy we are," Braff said. "All questions are answered quickly...We treat them like they're guests at the fanciest hotel and we're the concierge."

That would make Jennifer Terry, whose first movie date with her husband was Garden State, a VIP. She contributed $10,000 and is actually going to be in Braff's movie.

Watch the clip to see what Jennifer has to say about living the dream—and find out how Braff recently fulfilled two of his own childhood dreams!

Yes, this is really happening.

Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham decided to put together an Amazon wishlist and—wait for it—is asking her fans to purchase the items she has selected. And they're not cheap, either!

Farrah's wishlist includes a $1,489 bookcase, a $100 toaster, a $1089 pair of glitter pumps, a $700 coffee table, a $900 Sherri Hill dress and a dining table worth $1,299, just to name a few. All together (including gift ideas for her daughter Sophia), the 22-year-old is asking for nearly $11,000 worth of stuff.

LOOK: Farrah Abraham seems to be enjoying rehab

In the About Me section, Abraham wrote, "I love clothes, accesorie?s, dresses, heels, kitchen cookware, and who knows some other cool home stuff to decorate, and as always I think about my daughter too when I see something she's gotta have that's a must as well :) Thank you for brighteni?ng my day, and giving me a gift that counts and will always be memorable , Hugs & Lo?ve Farrah Abraham"

There's no clear reason for this list—Farrah's birthday was in May and well, it's a little early to be thinking about Christmas—but maybe the reality star just wanted some help acquiring some essential items, like a chrome scarf holder.

Because clearly, that seven-figure settlement she got for her porn tape with James Deen won't help.

Bradley Manning Seeks Gender Change, Wants to Be Called Chelsea

Bradley Manning is looking to make a change.

Just one day after being sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks, the U.S. Army soldier has revealed his desire to be a woman.

"I am Chelsea Manning. I am female," Manning said in a statement read by his attorney on Thursday's Today show. "Given the way I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. I hope that you will support me in this transition."

Manning, 25, added, "I also request that, starting today, you refer to me by my new name and use the feminine pronoun (except in official mail to the confinement facility). I look forward to receiving letters from supporters and having the opportunity to write back."

Meanwhile, the U.S. Army released a statement on Thursday in response to Manning's decision to seek hormone therapy, NBC News reports.

"Inmates at the United States Disciplinary Barracks and Joint Correctional Facility are treated equally regardless of race, rank, ethnicity or sexual orientation," read the statement. "All inmates are considered soldiers and are treated as such with access to mental health professionals, including a psychiatrist, psychologist, social workers and behavioral science noncommissioned officers with experience in addressing the needs of military personnel in pre- and post-trial confinement.

"The Army does not provide hormone therapy or sex-reassignment surgery for gender identity disorder. The USDB has implemented risk assessment protocols and safety procedures to address high risk factors identified with the Prison Rape Elimination Act."

Manning was convicted last month on multiple charges of espionage, theft and fraud and originally faced up to 90 years in prison.
