Taylor Swift: Red lipstick makes me feel 'fancy'

Taylor Swift likes red lipstick because it gives her a ''fancy feeling''.

The 23-year-old singer is often seen rocking red lipstick on stage and says the bold fashion statement reminds her of glamorous women throughout history who have inspired her.

She said: ''I like red lipstick because wearing it gives me this feeling of fancy things, elegant ladies and women throughout history who I've looked up to.

''My grandmother was absolutely beautiful, even in her old age. She always wore red lipstick. Maybe that's what I like about it.''

The blonde beauty maintains her gorgeous cherry-coloured lips by following tips from her make-up artists, who always blot then reapply the colour.

She added to Top of the Pops magazine: ''One of the best tips is they [make-up artists] have is put on the red lipstick, blot it with a tissue, then they put powder over the tissue and sort of press it onto your lips, then reapply the lipstick. It turns into a stain that lasts much longer.''

Despite always looking perfectly polished, Taylor doesn't bother having manicures as she uses her fingers while playing guitar and it would be difficult to maintain.

She added: ''I'm not really into doing much with my nails, since I play guitar, I do like blue though!''

Rita Ora Makes a Convincing Wall Street Woman of the '80s

Rita Ora AKM-GSI

Our first thought when we say this look: Working Girl. You could swap out Rita Ora in this silky pants suit with Melanie Griffith's character from the classic '80s flick, and no one would notice.

The British pop star's Viktor & Rolf one-piece has all the classic elements of the power evening suit: giant shoulder pads, a large lapel and all-over silk. The only element that's out of place is that asymmetrical, hip-hop style pant leg. That would never fly in former corporate America.

We can't quite tell what's going on with that right pant leg, but we know it's not working. Something about the draping from the side tie seems to be affecting the bunchiness of the whole left side. Saggy style of any variety is never a good thing, but in this case the rest of the look is so dramatic that we barely notice that defect.

That said—this look is still 20+ years out of date. Though we do appreciate Rita honoring the era with appropriate shade of red lipstick.

The Following at Comic-Con 2013: James Purefoy Makes Surprise Appearance, Returning For Season 2

by Tierney Bricker Fri., Jul. 19, 2013 3:30 PM PDT

The Following Sarah Shatz/FOX

Talk about a killer return!

Though he wasn't scheduled to attend 2013 Comic-Con, James Purefoy made a surprise appearance at The Following's panel on Friday, joining executive producers Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega and actors Kevin Bacon, Shawn Ashmore and Valorie Curry.

And though his iconic serial killer character Joe Carroll was supposedly killed off in the finale (being inside a building that blows up tends to do that), it was announced that Purefoy will be returning as a series regular for the Fox hit's highly anticipated second season, debuting January 2014. We guess Joe had a few more tricks up his sleeve after all!

Purefoy popped up in character to make the announcement via a "phone call" with Bacon's Ryan. "On the contrary, Ryan, I'm very much alive and kicking," he said.  "My apologies for not calling sooner…You didn't really think you could do a Comic-Con panel without me?"

Williamson played coy when asked for details on Joe's return, simply saying, "Yeah, I guess he might be alive. Of course Joe Carroll will figure into next season."

Aside from Joe's reappearance, Williamson teased that fans can expect less FBI-centric A-storylines in season two, which will pick up a year after the events of the finale. As for Claire (Natalie Zea)? Well, Zea will be back in season two, but a preview featuring new footage (spoiler alert!) showed Ryan's love, and Joe's ex-wife, dead. Yikes!

Keep checking back with us for more scoop on The Following's second season.
