The Easybeats Star Stevie Wright Hospitalised

Australian rocker Stevie Wright has been hospitalised in Sydney after suffering a seizure.

The former frontman of The Easybeats, 64, has confirmed reports he was admitted a week ago (ends12Jul13) and is now under observation for liver, kidney, lung and stomach disorders.

He tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph, "I'm not the best. It's probably a collection of things that have contributed to it (illness).

"I'm having procedures. I had a cough, so specialists started with my lungs, then my groin was giving me trouble... They are also looking at an infection in my throat and stomach, and then there are the liver and kidney issues."

The Friday On My Mind singer has revealed he has undergone surgery to have a large section of his intestine removed, but he's happy to be alive after the health scare: "I thought (that) was it."

The Telegraph reports Wright is expected to spend at least another week in hospital before recuperating at home.
